The service also offers a free-to-download mobile application (250Kb) that allows SMSing and backup; users of this service can use the mobile's phone book contacts while sending a message.
The application can be downloaded from http://m.160by2.com/app on a mobile phone. Once installed, users need to register and then can start sending messages. The application runs on mobile phones with internet connection supported with Symbian systems.
This application allows the user to use the inbox / sent messages folders at no cost. The user can also access the phone book on the mobile to send these messages. One can also save mobile phone book on 160by2.com as a back-up.
160by2.com claims that it has already witnessed 117,760 downloads for the application within a month of its launch.
