Google India launched a unique initiative to help small and medium businesses (SMBs) to get online with a free website, personalized domain and hosting. Called ‘India Get Your Business Online,' it aims to break down the barriers that stop small businesses from getting online by offering a quick, easy and free tool to set up and host a website.
If you want to use this service, you have to sign up at www.indiagetonline.in to get a free, easy-to-build website of .in domain and web hosting for one year. Also you will get Free email addresses, Free 365 days support. After a year, website owners will have to pay a charge depending on the services they opt for if they wish to renew their domain name.As part of its package, Google is offering SMBs a 2500 rupees (US$50) free advertising trial on Google AdWords to help promote their sites. During signup you need to give ID document, either a Permanant Account Number (PAN), or Tax Deduction Account Number (TAN) or Corporate Identify Number (CIN) to prove that you are a resident of India.
Google has partnered website hosting company HostGator, ICICI Bank and the Federation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) for this initiative.
