India's $35 cheap tablet computer-Aakash features

Finally India's Most affordable tablet is out! I've posted an article about this cheap tablet computer a year back India's $35 tablet with expected features and hardware specification. Well the specifications are somewhat disappointing but it still does the job for that unbelievable price! This Ubislate Netbook is manufactured by Datawind Ltd, here we will take a look at this tablet nick named "Aakash"(sky).!

Hardware Specifications and features:
  • Conexant 366MHz processor with graphics accelerator and HD video processor.
  • 256MB of RAM
  • 2GB of internal storage
  • 7″ resistive (800 x 480) display
  • Wi-Fi and GPRS modem
  • Android 2.2. 
  • Two USB ports
  • MicroSD card slot (supports up to 32GB)
  • 3.5mm stereo earphone jack and a built-in microphone.
  • 2,100 mAh battery which can last for about 3 hours
  • 350gm weight
The resistive touchscreen is said to be not so responsive but it’s one of the main reasons why the tablet is so cheap. Future versions may include a capacitive touchscreen, 3G, 600MHz-1.2 GHz processor.

This tablet will be offered to students at subsidized price 1500Rs(~$35) by the Indian govt. But prices are higher at retail, the Aakash will cost 2,999 rupees, or about $60. Retail version will have a SIM slot and access to Android Market.
