Microsoft to end support for Win 2000 and XP

Support for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP will come to an end on July 13. Also paid support, support assistance and security updates for these versions will be discontinued according to the Microsoft.

However, self-help online support, which includes Microsoft online Knowledge Base articles, FAQs and troubleshooting tools, will be available for at least another year. Users of Windows 2000 will need to migrate to a more recent version of  Windows. However If you're using Windows XP SP2 or earlier, there's a free and easy way to continue to get Microsoft support: Simply upgrade to SP3, which you can do via Windows Update utility
