India's $35 tablet

The tablet was introduced to the public by Kapil Sibal, the Human Resource Development Minister in NDTV's gadget guru, and  is expected to release by mid-2011, selling1 million units to students and educational institutions by the government; it is subsidized to $35 each.
Update: The long wait is over!! This tablet is launched!

Expected Features:
  • Expected to be available in three screen size variants: 5-inch, 7-inch, and 9-inch
  • Runs Android OS
  • processor around 1GHz
  • powered by a 2W power supply
  • 2 GB RAM
  • USB port 
  • Bluetooth,Wi-fi, 
  • Video out, SD card slots and SIM card slots for 3G connectivity
  • Camera( no info about pixel)
The tablet computer will support web browsing, video conferencing and word processing

Indian government is aiming to bring the cost down to $10 !!!

Updated Rupee Font

The latest Indian Rupee font symbol  is better than previous font symbol in terms of ease of installation and is more pleasing.

How to get it?
1. Download the file.
2. Extract the files. (You need winrar/winzip/7zip installed in your PC)
3. Double click on the Rupee_Font_Installer.exe
4. Click on "Install" button
5. Done.

 HOW TO USE THE FONT ?

Open your word processing applications like MS Office or Open Office.
Select "Rupee Foradian" from the drop down box of Fonts. Now Press the key just above the Tab button(left to the key 1) on your key board to get the rupee symbol.

NON WINDOWS USERS (LINUX, MAC and OTHERS)
Install the separate "Rupee_Foradian.ttf" to your fonts.
